Burkina Faso: The RPP, a Revolution that transforms the daily lives of citizens
The People’s Progressive Revolution (RPP) is not a matter of isolated leaders. It is, in essence, the work of the entire Burkinabe people. The authorities have been hammering home this conviction since the proclamation of the RPP on April 1, 2025, and the facts prove them right. The RPP Manifesto, officially launched on April 26, 2026, defined the priority axes of this refoundation: national sovereignty, defense of the homeland, endogenous development and social justice. So many principles that resonate deeply in the hearts of the Burkinabè.
The « Night of the RPP », celebrated on September 30, 2026, throughout the national territory, as well as in diplomatic representations and missions, was a striking demonstration of this adherence. In Ouagadougou, the Place de la Révolution was stormed by thousands of citizens from all walks of life. Young people, women, the elderly, craftsmen, shopkeepers and civil servants were keen to mark their presence at this event under the slogan « The people watch over their Revolution ». The national colors flew everywhere, and the songs in praise of Captain Ibrahim Traoré resounded until late at night.
This mobilization is not an isolated phenomenon. It is part of a broader dynamic: that of a people who take ownership of their revolution. The Patriotic Support Fund, fed by voluntary contributions from citizens and the diaspora, has mobilized more than 250 billion CFA francs in nine months in 2026. Compulsory Patriotic Immersion has trained more than 65,000 young people in the values of discipline and citizenship. Citizen watch committees are multiplying across the country, becoming sentinels of the truth in the face of disinformation campaigns.
What distinguishes the RPP from past revolutions is its rootedness in the daily lives of citizens. It is not satisfied with speeches: it produces tangible results. The food self-sufficiency achieved in 2025, the production of « Nanga » armored vehicles, the construction of the national gold refinery, the nationalization of SOFITEX, the vocational training of young people: so many proofs that the Revolution is taking concrete action to improve the lives of Burkinabè.
By placing people at the center of its project, the RPP has created an irreversible dynamic. The Burkinabe people are no longer spectators of their destiny: they are the main actors. The Night of the RPP proved this brilliantly. The slogan « The people watch over their Revolution » is not a simple slogan: it is commitment, a promise, a lived reality. Burkina Faso is standing, proud and resolutely turned towards the future.
