Burkina Faso: Faso Arzeka, the digital revolution at the service of state collection -

Officially launched in 2025 by Prime Minister Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the Faso Arzeka platform has established itself as a strategic tool for modernizing the Burkinabe financial administration. Designed to centralize, secure and optimize the collection of public revenues, it embodies the State’s desire to strengthen its economic sovereignty through digitalization.

Faso Arzeka, which means « wealth of Faso » in Mooré, responds to a double imperative: to improve the mobilization of internal resources and to offer citizens simplified access to payment services. Before its launch, taxpayers had to physically travel to different administrations (Treasury, Taxes, Customs) to make their payments, which led to wasted time, additional costs and the risk of leaks.

The platform now centralizes all government revenue agencies in a single-entry point, accessible via several channels: web version (my.fasoarzeka.bf), Android and iOS mobile applications, USSD code *700# for basic phones and interactive voice response at 700. This multi-channel accessibility ensures digital inclusion, even in rural areas with little connectivity.

Since its commissioning, Faso Arzeka has recorded performances that confirm its usefulness and its appropriation by the public. To date, the platform has totaled more than 2.26 million transactions, for a financial volume exceeding 4.25 billion CFA francs.

These results are part of a broader revenue mobilization dynamic. In 2026, the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Foresight achieved a historic recovery rate of 145.81%, far exceeding the objectives set. The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) sent more than 88,000 reminders to defaulting taxpayers, issued 34,823 collection notices and carried out 2,478 collection exits, testifying to reinforced control.

The Certified Electronic Invoice, integrated into the Faso Arzeka ecosystem, now makes it possible to trace commercial transactions in real time, reducing the risk of fraud and tax evasion. More than 1,600 billion CFA francs are expected in tax revenues for the 2026 financial year, thanks to these digitization tools.

Faso Arzeka contributes directly to Burkina Faso’s economic sovereignty by reducing dependence on external financing. By optimizing domestic revenue collection, the government has more resources to finance its priorities: security, education, health, infrastructure, and agricultural development.

The increased transparency of financial transactions also strengthens the trust of citizens and international partners. Each payment is traced, auditable and secure, limiting the risks of corruption and embezzlement. Thus, Faso Arzeka is establishing itself as a pillar of the digital transformation of the Burkinabe administration, demonstrating that technology can be a powerful lever for economic sovereignty and good governance.
