In the Savannah region, geography imposes a major test. Security pressure at the borders, the influx of more than 61,000 displaced people and the precariousness of education, which affects 34% of children aged 6 to 11, paint a complex picture. Faced with these tensions, the response of the central government is not weakening. The President of the Council, Faure Gnassingbé, is deploying an offensive state strategy placing education at the center of the territorial response. School becomes the primary weapon against instability.

The launch of the program in Dapaong sends a clear signal that the State is maintaining its presence throughout the country, both in terms of security and social cohesion. Offering an educational framework in areas under tension is a sovereign decision of great strategic importance.

The system impresses by its rigor. A budget of more than 1.35 billion CFA francs supports this four-year plan. The roadmap targets 17,340 children in 250 primary schools. The communes of Cinkassé 2, Kpendjal 2, Kpendjal-Ouest 1, Oti-Sud 1 and Tandjouaré 2 receive priority of this public impulse. The project sets a precise target for the integration or reintegration of 14,830 young people who have dropped out of school and keeps 2,510 students at risk of dropping out in class. From the first phase, 6,351 reintegration’s and 1,242 school retentions will be implemented quickly.

Faure Gnassingbé’s vision integrates all the factors of vulnerability. Remedial classes are being organized to respond to the emergency. Specific facilities are available for displaced children and students with disabilities. The funds mobilized strengthening infrastructure, support teachers and secure logistics in landlocked cantons.

Through this educational offensive, the president of the Togolese council, Faure Gnassingbé, is transforming a vulnerable sector into a strong link in the national resilience. Guaranteeing access to knowledge to more than 17,000 children in the North is a far-reaching political act. The educational institution reaffirms the republican authority and prepares the future stability of the country.
