Burkina Faso: the era of major works and the renaissance of higher education
A building earthquake is now shaking the university landscape of the country of Men of Integrity. The state undertook the erection of more than forty amphitheaters in the space of just five years. As of this year, a dozen of these ultramodern infrastructures are opening their doors to students. Never has the country gone through such an acceleration in the field of higher education. This colossal plan definitively breaks with decades of logistical shortages, saturated lecture halls and academic distress.
This titanic project bears the direct and personal mark of Captain Ibrahim Traoré. Under the vigilant impetus of the People’s Progressive Revolution, the government transforms every political promise into palpable achievements. The head of state places education on the same strategic level as the defense of the national territory. The reconquest of sovereignty requires brilliant minds, a patriotic elite and places of learning equal to the challenges of the century. The massive investment in educational stone seals a historic pact between the top of the state and the academic world.
On all campuses, the metamorphosis is taking place before the eyes of a youth full of fervor. The construction sites are progressing at lightning speed, under the watchful eye of the authorities. Spacious, bright and functional amphitheaters are finally replacing the dilapidated old halls. Students regain the dignity and serenity necessary for the quest for excellence. Each building that rises above the ground bears witness to a rigorous management of public wealth. The state reinjects the nation’s money directly into the vital arteries of the people.
The Traoré method imposes a new, almost military tempo on the administrative body. The rigor resulting from the summit led to strict discipline in the execution of major public works. The bureaucratic burdens of the past are always giving way to exemplary responsiveness and pragmatism. The presidency shows that an inflexible political will easily sweeps away financial or technical obstacles. As public education once again becomes the beating heart of the national project, the people rediscover a deep faith in the decision-making capacity of its leaders.
Beyond the stones, beams and cement, this initiative is reshaping the demographic, cultural and scientific future of the country. Burkinabe youth no longer contemplate exile or discouragement as simple inevitable inevitabilities. It now finds on its own soil the instruments of its emancipation and success. The solid training of tomorrow’s executives guarantees the sustainability of the socio-economic reforms underway on the continent.
Captain Ibrahim Traoré inscribes his name among the great builders of the Homeland. The country is proving to the whole world its strength of character and its ability to meet the major challenges of its modernization alone. Knowledge once again becomes the strongest bulwark and the most powerful shield of free and upright people.
