Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré prepares a patriotic youth to meet tomorrow’s challenges
The closing ceremony of the second edition of the Mandatory Patriotic Immersion Program (IPO), held on August 27, 2026, and presided over by Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, marked an important step in shaping a generation of youth aware of their responsibilities. Over thirty days, 65,000 young people learned the values of patriotism, discipline, solidarity, and service to the nation.
With this program, the Head of State seeks to prepare a new generation ready to take charge of the country’s future. The IPO serves as a school of life, aimed at strengthening the sense of duty, responsibility, and love for the homeland. These 65,000 participants become ambassadors, tasked with spreading these values in their communities and contributing to national development.
In his speech, President Traoré stressed the importance of humility and knowledge. He believes that understanding the world, geopolitics, and the nation’s challenges is key for young people to rise to the demands of their time. He also urged them to reject lies, cheating, and shortcuts.
Solidarity and good character are central to this vision. The President encourages prioritizing the common good, dignity, and personal growth, fostering citizens who know their rights but, more importantly, fulfill their duties to the nation.
This effort will continue with the creation of National Immersion Centers across the country, open to all. It reflects a commitment to making patriotism a driver of social change and to preparing a generation of Burkinabè who are committed, responsible, and determined to serve their country.
