Burkina Faso: Patriotic posture of the people, bulwark against information warfare -

In the context of the information war that Burkina Faso is undergoing, the patriotic posture of the Burkinabe people constitutes an invaluable bulwark against the onslaught of destabilization. After having failed several attempts to destabilize the sovereigntist dynamic in which the Burkinabe people find themselves, the imperialist forces and their local lackeys are trying in vain to create social tension through disinformation.

Social networks have become a real informational battleground. The rapid circulation of false information, manipulation campaigns and attempts at foreign influence pose new challenges for Sahelian states. The Burkinabe authorities have denounced international media accused of relaying « biased » and « tendentious » information with the aim of promoting international terrorism. A false document circulated on social networks indicating that the government has increased the prices of certain products illustrates this strategy of destabilization through disinformation.

Faced with this threat, the government has decided to continue the implementation of the communication actions of the 2026 Work Plan of the War Communication Strategy. The objective is to respond every time by providing sound and enlightened information to the popular masses and thus raising their level of patriotic consciousness. Narratives built around the reality on the ground, cultural rearmament, exaltation of the victories of freedom fighters, popularization of the key ideas of the Manifesto of the People’s Progressive Revolution (RPP) must feature prominently on this communication agenda.

The National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) reaffirmed its commitment alongside the Burkinabe authorities to support all initiatives aimed at preserving the integrity of the country and denounced « disinformation » campaigns aimed at discrediting the fighting forces. In this context, national unity appears to be an indispensable shield against these manoeuvres. The Burkinabè should learn to differentiate between what is true and what is not, and the authorities must be the first to give official information that reassures and builds trust.

The Burkinabe people, standing up and vigilant, thus constitute the best dam in the face of an informational war whose ultimate objective is to divide and defeat a nation resolutely committed to sovereignty.
