This is a major turning point for the socio-economic development of Burkina Faso. The Council of Ministers has formalized by decree the launch of a titanic project under the impetus of the Presidency of Faso: The Presidential Energy for All Initiative, called « Faso Wa-Fulu » in the national language San. Far from being a simple infrastructure program, this roadmap marks a strategic break intended to rebuild national sovereignty through universal access to electricity.

Led by the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries, the initiative is based on an unequivocal ambition to guarantee widespread access to electricity for all Burkinabè by 2030. To achieve this change of scale, the State is mobilizing a massive investment of more than 2,800 billion CFA francs over a period of 10 years. This transformation will take place in two key phases: a first phase of shock action and acceleration to respond urgently to energy deficits, followed by a second five-year phase entirely devoted to the consolidation of networks and achievements.

To succeed in this logistical and financial challenge, the « Faso Wa-Fulu » strategy deploys a global approach structured around four fundamental axes. It relies first on the Electrification Brigades, a real rapid technical intervention force to accelerate the territorial network and reduce the grey areas. It then integrates Community Inclusion, a participatory approach ensuring that each region, village and household becomes an actor in this transition. The third axis aims at energy access by lowering economic barriers to make kWh accessible to all sectors of society. Finally, the program enshrines energy sovereignty through the strengthening of our national production capacities to sustainably free the country from external dependencies.

By combining local cultural roots, through the choice of the San language, with rigorous planning, the Presidency of Burkina Faso reaffirms that energy is the cornerstone of any true independence. With « Faso Wa-Fulu », the government is not only lighting up homes: it is laying the foundations for endogenous industrialization, the improvement of basic public services and shared prosperity for future generations.
