Burkina Faso: Ecological sovereignty is affirmed through excellence in public action
In Ouagadougou, the Burkinabe state is transforming environmental preservation into a political strategy of efficiency and administrative modernization. On the sidelines of the official celebration of the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer 2026, the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Health is hosting a major preventive maintenance operation. Resulting from the ROCA pilot project, this deployment highlights ecological, energy-efficient air conditioning equipment that is completely harmless to the atmosphere.

The Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Professionals deploys around a hundred qualified technicians in public buildings. In the field, the local workforce is rigorous and masterful of the technical requirements of these new technologies. The safety protocols, the control of the electrical circuits and the meticulous cleaning of the evaporators reflect the excellence of the national competences. The active involvement of professional managers guarantees an effective transmission of good refrigeration practices.
Beyond technical intervention, the initiative promotes a real culture of sobriety within ministerial services. Raising awareness among users of the optimal setting of air conditioners, recommended between 24°C and 26°C, protects the equipment and reduces energy consumption on a daily basis. Burkina Faso is thus paving the way for a modern, visionary governance that is resolutely focused on ecological progress.
